Victims Rights in Ohio

Victims of crime have     many rights under Ohio law.

Crime Victims Rights & Responsibilities

The Crime Victim Services Section of the Ohio Attorney General's Office has developed an excellent booklet about victims rights, available both on-line and in print.

Topics include:

-special rights of sexual assault victims (including the right to have offenders tested for sexually transmitted infections)
-your right to receive current information about the criminal investigation
-your right to be free from intimidation
-your right to information from the prosecutor
-your right to make a statement at sentencing and receive sentencing information
-your right to receive information about the offender's incarceration and parole status

NOTE:  If you have trouble downloading the on-line version of this document below, we can send you a print copy of the booklet.  You can request one by calling Becky Perkins, Rape Crisis Program Assistant Director, at (513)523-4149.
