Mifepristone/Medical Abortion

It's your choice.

Information about Options

This link provides information about mifepristone (also known as RU486 or the "abortion pill") and medical abortion.

For some women, the trauma of rape is immeasurably complicated when pregnancy occurs as a result of the assault.  In this situation, we believe that only the victim can choose how to respond.

If you are considering abortion following a sexual assault, the most important step you can take is talk to someone you trust about the situation.  Don't isolate yourself.  Share your thoughts and feelings with someone who will listen, support you, help you explore options, and respect your decisions.  Often, it is important to talk to more than one person about the decision you are facing-- for example, your doctor, your best friend, your parents, and your spiritual advisor.

It is also important to take time alone to explore your own thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.  Be sure to take steps to fill any gaps in knowledge you may have about pregnancy, abortion, and adoption.  With support and information, you can make the decision that is right for you.
