Our Education Department has a wide variety of programs available to help you reduce your family's vulnerability to sexual abuse.  Qualified speakers who are available to address your community organization, school, or religious organization about many issues related to sexual assault.

IN-SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAMS

1. Elementary School Personal Safety Program
Conservative estimates indicate that between 300,000 and half a million of cases of child sexual abuse occur in the United States each year.  The Elementary School Sexual Assault Prevention Program utilizes a nationally recognized and tested curriculum to effectively teach children essential personal safety information.  Age-appropriate materials are utilized to reach children in preschool through sixth grade in an empowering and non-threatening manner.  Training is also available for educators and daycare providers.

2. Teen Sexual Assault Prevention Program
Designed to address the specific needs of students in grades seven through twelve, these programs focus upon personal safety and decision-making, positive communication, and dating rights.  Training for educators is also available.


COMMUNITY-BASED EDUCATION PROGRAMS

1. For Parents: How to Raise Safer, “Street-Smart” Kids
Child sexual abuse is a difficult topic for most parents to discuss with their children.  Experienced speakers are available to address parent groups concerning child sexual abuse & abduction prevention.

2. Senior Citizen Protection Program
It’s a fact that criminals look for victims who appear to be vulnerable.  This program teaches older adults simple self-protection strategies for home, street, and car defense.  We can all learn to better protect ourselves.
